Professional Background
I’m a California-licensed attorney and Realtor® with a professional background that includes more than 35 years as a corporate litigation attorney based in San Francisco, along with experience in Marin and Sonoma County residential real estate.
As a career professional, my practice is focused on providing careful tax preparation, clear communication, and highest level client service. I take the time to understand your situation, answer your questions, and help you feel better prepared before, during, and after tax season.
Tax Preparation Experience
I am registered with the IRS as a credentialed tax preparer and authorized e-file provider. This allows me to prepare and electronically file tax returns in all U.S. states and territories.
My practical tax experience includes the preparation and filing of more than a thousand federal and state income tax returns. I have also completed more than 200 hours of coursework and self-study in tax theory and procedure.
Although I am not required to register with the California Tax Education Council, I successfully completed the CTEC qualifying examination for California tax preparers.
Formal Education
I earned my J.D., with honors, from the University of San Francisco School of Law and my B.A., magna cum laude, in Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
Local Roots
My wife, Debra, and I both grew up in Marin County and now reside in Petaluma, California. Our children, Brian, Christopher, and Melissa, and their spouses all live and work locally, and we are proud grandparents to Cole, Grace, and Emmett.
Outside of work, I’m a longtime Giants baseball fan, avid reader, and veteran of one of Marin’s early rock bands. Debra owns a pet care business and enjoys photography.
